Sam Ingham (Rochester, NY), who was crew on the championship winning boat in 2005 is currently leading the fleet but with five more races to go on Sunday, he and his crew, Graham Gardner are being chased hard.  Two of his top competitors, Evan Miller & Alexander Steward, and  Luke Lawrence& Alex Sachs have competed in this championship before but newcomers to this championship, Andrew Mason & Chris Segerblom (currently in third place) and Fritz Stunzi & Trevor Burd (tied for fourth)  are in the fight too.  Sunday will prove decisive as only five points separated the top five boats by the end of racing today.

Miller was commended for his determination by national chair, Arthur Stevens, as he has been ill throughout the regatta but has continued to compete and perform at a high level.

The races are being sailed in a round robin with ten boats.  The committee plans to get in five more races on Sunday so  that each team will have raced six times and that will enable a discard.  That discard could be the ultimate decider as to who will be crowned 2007 U.S. Youth Mulithull Champions.
