CSSA Regatta (C Point): July 9-10, 2011
We have invited Jr. Sailing
clubs from within the CSSA organization and around the KC area. It’s a
terrific way for the kids to compete and show off their skills!
Classes (Schedules and Fees TBD):
Fun Camp (ages 6 to 8): No
exceptions will be made for the minimum age. Fun Camp is generally 1
hour/day for one week per session. Your child may participate in either or
both Sessions.
Beginner (age 9 and above): There
will be a 3 week Beginner class during each Session. Your child may
participate in either or both Sessions.
Intermediate (enrollment based on skill level, not age):
There will be a 3 week Intermediate course during
each Session. Your child may participate in either or both Sessions.
Racing Classes: Opti
Green, Opti Red and Laser Classes begin in Session I and run through both
Sessions. Each class will have 6 weeks of instruction per class.
Laser class is “bring your own boat”. Class placement is based on
skill level, not age.
Enrollment forms:

At City Hall (until Session I begins) – you may enroll and leave payment
there; after Session I begins, please email Michelle Stevenson for forms
2. Email Michelle at mstevenson@kc.rr.com
and she will email the forms and schedules to you. You can then mail the forms
with payment to City Hall, c/o Jr. Sailing, 7200 Eastside Drive, Weatherby Lake,
MO 64152; or drop them both at City Hall. Make checks payable to WLYC.
Please DO NOT bring the forms
along with your child on the first day of a session. No one wants to turn
away a child because the class was already full. You must
register your child prior to bringing them to class.
Class selection and assignments:
If
you’d like input on which class to enroll your child in, email Michelle
Stevenson at mstevenson@kc.rr.com. She will be in contact with the instructors
to obtain their recommendations. Please note that all final class assignments
are determined by Head Instructor. Pending class size, ages and ability, as
classes fill up, we’ll be in touch with you for possible schedule changes.

so…Sign Up Now!! Class sign up priority will go to 1) Last year’s sailors 2)
Date checks and forms are received. The WLYC Jr. Sailing program is open
to any child/grandchild from Weatherby Lake (sorry, no friends). A
discounted price is given to WLYC Members. Membership in the WLYC is $55
annually.
