   Founded in 1970, the Waccamaw Sailing Club is the hub of the lake's sailing activities. Facilities include two ramps for launching shallow draft boats, cruiser moorings, a pier, a sandy beach and swim area, a kitchen, shower rooms, decks and a large pavilion. Camping is available on the club grounds for members and regatta sailors. Club races are held on Saturday and Sunday of the fourth weekend of each month from March through September under the Portsmouth Handicap system with multi-hull, monohull and cruiser classes. Numerous classes have held regattas at the club including Tanzer 16, Hobie Lightning, Isotope, and San Juan 21.Waccamaw Sailing Club is a member club of the US Sailing Association & SAYRA.
