The PYC is a group of professional nomads, vagabonds, and misfits that have a common interest in sailing, sundowners, and storytelling. We meet whenever we want to, we discuss whatever we want to, and we talk about whoever we want to. The PYC is a member of the Texas Sailing Association and the US Sailing Association. We proudly sponsor the Cannonball Run Regatta held each August at South Bay, Palacios waterfront. Around Us If you're anywhere close to the Matagorda Jetties, head on in, turn north, and stay awhile in Palacios. Once you come through the jetties, you have a consistently deep 12' bay to sail in. There are a few wellheads to navigate around, and you'll want to steer clear of Half Moon Reef. If you draft 5' or more, head into the Palacios channel around Marker 30 to ensure an uneventful arrival into Palacios. At Marker 50 you will enter the harbor...this is the only place marked with a red and a green channel marker. The harbor has several turning basins filled with commercial shrimp boats. Stay on your course until you see a bait camp to starboard. You'll make a turn to starboard, see Park's Bait and a blue-roofed house that both border the waterfront, and Serendipity Marina will be located just past to port.
