Golden Anchor Membership

Discounted membership in US Sailing through the Golden Anchor Program is included in your junior sailing program fees.  Benefits of US Sailing membership include discounts on boating supplies and equipment and a subscription to US Sailing's informative junior sailing magazine.

Donations for Auctions

If you have any sailing or boating gear, concert tickets, sporting event tickets, artwork, household goods, services, etc. that you would be willing to donate to North Star Junior Sailing, Inc. for our auction, please do so.  Also, if you would be willing to collect donations from local businesses, please let us know.  We'll be scheduling fundraising meetings shortly.

 

NSJS Program Director SWETKA AWARD winner  

Michael Williams has been awarded the SWETKA TROPHY of NORTH STAR SAIL CLUB for his contributions to the sport of sailing & outstanding leadership of NSJS in 2006

The award was presented by the Swetka family at the annual Com. Ball 3-17-07. Mike humbly accepted on behalf of his staff and volunteers.

NSJS Open to ABYA

NSJS will be making a presentation to the ABYA at their March meeting opening our curriculum to more young boaters

Lolly Boston Trophy

An Award plaque dedicated to the major contributors and boats purchased out of the Lolly Boston Fund has been completed. it heading to the engravers as you read this. After engraving it will be displayed in the North Star sail Clubs new soon to be installed showcase.

 

Silent and Live Auctions to benefit North Star Junior Sailing, Inc.

Plan on attending the fourth Annual Silent and Live Auctions to benefit North Star Junior Sailing, Inc. to be held on the Parade of Lights night in Harrison Township at North Star Sail Club.  North Star Sail Club has graciously agreed to open its doors to the public this night.  Proceeds from the silent and live auctions will benefit the Junior Sailing Program.

North Star Junior Sailing adds to its fleet

DRYA has decided to stop supporting Flying Juniors (F J’s) as a racing class, however DRYA will support 420 Collegiate (main & jib) and Spinnaker classes.  As a result of this North Star Junior Sailing will add at least two, but hopefully three, new to us, Vanguard C420’s prior to the start of the program this year.   This will allow us to expand our 420 race team.

Texas Hold'em Fund Raiser fun time

NSJS will again host a Texas Hold'em  card game fundraiser. Players will have a great time for a great cause. This charitable event had a $50 buy in at NSSC. Start time is 6:00pm You bet we are not bluffing

ADULT SAILING A GO

2008 marks the return of adult sailing classes at NSSC. This program taught by NSJS instructors was started in 2006 and is in full swing.

Adults get 4 classes on Wednesday nights 1 on shore class followed by 3 nights hands on sailing on Anchor bay.
