Coeur d’Alene Lake has a long-standing tradition of racing. Some of the lake’s events stretch back a number of years and have some great stories behind them. Coeur d’Alene Sailing Association has picked up and continued with these great traditions as well as starting a few new ones.

Coeur d’Alene Sailing Association offers a full racing schedule through spring, summer, and early fall. Offering five racing classes using the PHRF-NW handicap system, there is a class for everyone. There is a Corinthian fleet, which gives the new racer an opportunity to join the fun without worrying about complicated rules. In this race only simple right of way applies. When there are enough boats in a class, we offer separate starts for one-design boats. We have a Wednesday Night buoy series, and various long distance and buoy races on Saturdays. After racing we get together at the Beach House Restaurant for a little socializing.

A waiver must be signed and on file  with Secretary prior to any boat being allowed to race. This waiver can be downloaded and mailed in to

or picked up at the Skippers meeting before each race and given to the race committee personnel.
There is plenty of exciting racing this year. Come join us. If racing isn’t your style or you would like to get a closer look, then how about volunteering for the committee boat? We are always in need of help setting up the course and starting races. No experience necessary. To volunteer please contact our Chief Race Steward, Darcy Sinsley. Check the Race Committee Roster for openings. This is a great way to be a spectator and support our racers.

We look forward to sailing with you this summer. If you have any questions, email either Devon Sinsley or Dwayne Smith.
