Racing Events
Every skipper must sign the waiver before being
allowed to race. Please submit to Julie Carrick before racing, or at any
skippers meeting, or committee boat prior to the start of the race.

Racing Rules Seminar:
The new Rules of Racing take affect this year. We will be discussing the changes
as well as what has stayed the same. This is a good opportunity to refresh your
memory for the up coming season. The seminar will be presented by David Cohen
for CSA members as well as anyone else wishing to attend.

Cost: Free
Wednesday Night Spring Series :
This series consists of 6 races. Points will be awarded and at the end of
the series a champion will be crowned. Racing will start at 6:30 pm and we
will meet on
the water at the committee boat off arrow point. Race fees should be paid to the
race committee on the PYC dock before or after the race or paid in advance. If
necessary fees can be paid at the committee boat.
Rules and Coarse. There will be two divisions racing. A&B boats
and C&D&Corinthian. There will be a long coarse for the A&B boats and
a short
coarse for C&D&Cor. There will be one start with all boats sailing to the same
windward mark, then down to their respective leeward mark. See
map for detail. Courses will be set according
to wind direction. All races will be once around. If changes need to be made the
"come within hail flag" will be flown on the boat before the start.

Spring Shake
Down Long Distance Race
Come shake out your sails and spend the day racing on CDA lake. Even though
we've started going around the buoys this is the first distance race of the
year. The course will be determined the day of the race depending on conditions.

Great Single Hander's Race:
This race has a long standing tradition on the lake and is a favorite among the
long time sailors on the lake. It is one of our best attended races. After all
you can't use the excuse that you couldn't find crew. Come out and give racing a
sailboat by yourself a chance.

Beach House Regatta:
Hosted by the Beach House restaurant, this is a long distance race with
tradition. The winners get their name on a perpetual trophy that hangs on the
wall at the Beach House Restaurant. We will meet at the Beach House after the
race for socializing.

Cruisers Buoy
Race:
This is the chance for the big boats
to show their stuff. This race is for the cruisers. Grab the wife, kids, and
friends and come out and give it a try.

Tony's Regatta:
This race is sponsored by Tony's Restaurant in Bennett Bay. Following the race
we will meet for dinner and socializing at Tony's at 5:30 PM. You don't have to
race to attend the dinner.

CDA Resort Distance Race:
This race is sponsored by The Coeur d'Alene Resort. After the race we will
meet at the Dockside Restaurant at 2:00 PM for refreshments and sea tales.

Dockside, The Resort’s Family restaurant, is open
daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and located on the lobby level at the
water’s edge. Dockside boasts one of the region’s top salad bars, bakery-fresh
gooey desserts and the Northwest’s premier Sunday brunch, all complemented by
unlimited views of the Boardwalk and the marina.

Distance Race:
What can we say? It's a race, and it won't be short. Be sure to attend the
Champagne and Chocolate raft-up in Beauty Bay at 4:00 PM following the race.

Brien Duncan
Cup CDA Regatta
This is the annual regatta. It is CSA's big one-design race of the year.
J-24's, Stars and San Juan 21's are some of the classes that have made this one of their
stops. We run the PHRF boats as well. This year we would like to expand this
race. Any one design class is welcome and will be given a class start. Socializing will take place
at PYC on Saturday night following the race.
The Brian Duncan "Cup", a perpetual trophy, resides at the Brix
Restaurant in downtown CDA with each year's winner's name engraved. A special thank you
to Keith Grizlack for the trophy and to Jerry Goggin for hosting the event.

Commodore's Cup:
The Coeur d' Alene Sailing Association's Fleet Championship Race. We will
race four or more races. Racing will take place Saturday and we will race as many races
as we can get in. If we can not complete racing on Sat. we will continue Sun.
