The recommendations contained in this section are based on the US Sailing Race Management Handbook and The Racing Rules of Sailing. The information in the handbook is very broad, so we will only include information related to "small course racing" and the "regatta" racing format. Our recommendations may be different for club racing as opposed to invitational or championship regattas where the sailing instructions may specify other actions.
