Although it was hot the PFDs stayed on as modeled by Paul and Will from Vineyard Haven YC

No shortage of concentration. Good breeze was hard to come by.

Being in front at the start was the name of the game.
Mallets Bay Boat Club hosted the lightly attended Area A Mallory elimination on Lake Champlain with light winds in J/24s. The race committee struggled to get off 5 races with shifting light winds. Good starts paid dividends, getting the best starter to the nearest puff first. Fastiggi's team had extensive J/24 experience which definitely seamed to keep them going fast upwind. Wilson's team demonstrated good match racing skills in one race forcing the NSA team to round the end of the starting line. The SMSA team won that start and sailing an excellent race, capitalizing on good downwind technique. Although 6 races were scheduled the last was forgone since the positions would not change regardless of the outcome of that race. The ISC team suffered team difficulties with team replacements the day before the race with the final team broken up because a competing a Golf game. Bill Fastiggi is a successful Lightning racer and looks forward to the nationals in the hard chined Thunderbird. However, the team is concerned about raising the airfare to British Columbia.
